1. Respiratory Illnesses (Colds, Flu, Coughs):

  • Signs: Runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, fever, cough, body aches.
  • Ayurvedic Remedies:
    • Ginger: Warming, relieves congestion, boosts immunity. Add to tea or hot water with honey.
    • Tulsi (Holy Basil): Antibacterial, antiviral, immune-boosting. Drink as tea or gargle with decoction.
    • Turmeric: Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, clears mucus. Gargle with a pinch of turmeric and some salt mixed in lukewarm water or take a pinch of turmeric as powder mixed with honey.
    • Steam inhalation: With eucalyptus oil or ajwain (caraway seeds) to loosen mucus and open airways.

2. Dry Skin:

  • Signs: Dryness, itchiness, flaking, cracked skin.
  • Ayurvedic Remedies:
    • Vata Body oil: A Sesame oil blend - Moisturizing, nourishing, balances Vata dosha. Apply liberally to skin. Use a hand and foot balm for craked skin on feet and hands.
    • Ghee: Nourishing, promotes healing, calms inflammation. Apply topically or add to warm milk.

3. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):

  • Ayurvedic Remedies:
    • Sunlight exposure: Spend time outdoors during daylight hours, even on cloudy days.
    • Bright light therapy: Consider using a light box in the morning to simulate sunlight.
    • Warm, nourishing foods: Include spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cardamom in your diet.
    • Yoga and meditation: Promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve mood.
    • Herbal teas: Ashwagandha and Brahmi herbal teas for stress relief and energy.

4. Joint Pain and Stiffness:
